Waiheke Herbs

Waiheke Herbs is most famous for the Waiheke Herb Spread created by Wendy Kendall, a herb enthusiast who wanted to create a healthy spread for her young children using the traditional and wild herbs growing in her backyard. Having studied herbalism for several years, and particularly the wild herbs which grow in NZ, Wendy spent a year observing which herbs grew year-round so she could always source them fresh. Olive oil was used as a base because of the burgeoning olive oil industry on Waiheke. From it's launch at the the local market in 2002, to supermarkets around the county, Waiheke Herb Spread is steadily growing in popularity and availability. We employ friends and family to help with manufacturing, and have our sights set on spreading around the world!

Usage Ideas

Use the old standby of pumpkin to make  a big pot of soup, and serve with fresh artisan bread.


Follow up with the perfect winter crumble - apples, pears or add some frozen berries. Top with vanilla custard.
