We are in beautiful Coopers Beach in the Far North, and have been catching and smoking fish for five years.

We moved from Hawke’s Bay and have set up this exciting enterprise with an aim of providing fresh and smoked seafood to discerning seafood lovers.

Our fish is caught by a local fisherman who works two boats ensuring that we have fresh fish whenever possible. They use the longline method of fishing, ensuring we receive premium quality fish. Our eel is harvested from our clear Northland streams and rivers.

We use native manuka to give our fish a natural smoke flavour. We have smoked Snapper, Kingfish, Trevally, Marlin, Salmon, Mullet, Kahawai, Roe.

We make three pates - Smoked Eel, Smoked Fish and our award winning Kina. These contain no added preservatives and are made in small batches to ensure freshness and consistent flavour.

Usage Ideas

Yay it’s bluff oyster season. Keep it simple – freshly shuck and serve on shell with lemon and pepper, or finely chopped shallots and a sharp fruit vinegar.

The black beauty of vegetables, and so versatile. Ratatouille with zucchini tomatoes basil, or Asian style with minced pork and sambal sauce.

New season apples and pears or feijoas, with fruit drizzle and vanilla custard

Try roasted in an autumn salad with rocket and balsamic, or in a risotto or even a family favourite soup..
